Вони є складовою Відкритої освіти (Open Education, OE) і сприяють вільному та відкритому обміну знаннями в національній і глобальній освіті. В усіх країнах діяльність академічних бібліотек у напрямі OER цілком співпадає з найголовнішою характеристикою освіти як обміну знаннями, ідеями та інформацією з іншими, на основі яких можуть бути побудовані нові знання, навички, ідеї та розуміння. Українська освіта робить перші кроки у прийнятті OER. Тому бібліотекарям ЗВО України потрібне розуміння, які ролі в OER мають їх зарубіжні колеги. Ролі бібліотекарів: 1) інформаційні фахівці з теорії та практик відкритості; 2) фахівці з е-публікацій; 3) консультанти; 4) педагоги; 5) бібліотекарі; 6) автори; 7 користувачі; 8) креативні менеджери проектів; 9) організатори спільнот тощо.ENG: Educational Resources (OER) are materials for teaching, learning and research in any format and on any medium (digital or otherwise). They are a component of Open Education (OE) and contribute to the free and open exchange of knowledge in national and global education. In all countries, the activities of academic libraries in the field of OER fully coincide with the most important characteristic of education as the exchange of knowledge, ideas and information with others, on the basis of which new knowledge, skills, ideas and understanding can be built. Ukrainian education is taking the first steps in adopting OER. Therefore, librarians of Ukrainian higher education institutions need to understand what roles their foreign colleagues have in OER.
