    Life cycle environmental impact of buildings

    ENG: The textbook examines modern approaches to assessing the environmental impact of buildings throughout their life cycle. It presents an analysis of global environmental challenges and international programs and strategies for mitigating them, highlighting the role of the construction sector in reducing its carbon footprint. The publication outlines the main stages of the building life cycle, including methods for assessing environmental impacts at each stage, the regulatory framework, the specifics of using environmentally friendly materials, and the standards of ecological certification (LEED, BREEAM, DGNB), along with practical examples of their implementation. Special attention is devoted to BIM-integrated life cycle analysis technologies and digital tools such as OneClickLCA for modeling embodied emissions. The textbook is intended for students of architecture and construction specialties, researchers, and professionals in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, and building materials production. The textbook was prepared as part of the International Project under the Erasmus programme 101127884 — The Bridge — ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE «Bridging the gap between university and industry: Master Curricular Supporting the Development of Green Jobs and Digital Skills in the Ukrainian Building Sector»

    Вплив будівель на навколишнє середовище протягом життєвого циклу

    UKR: У навчальному посібнику розглянуто сучасні підходи до оцінки екологічного впливу будівель протягом їх життєвого циклу. Представлено аналіз глобальних екологічних викликів та міжнародних програм і стратегій їх подолання, розкрито роль будівельної галузі у зменшенні вуглецевого сліду. Висвітлено основні етапи життєвого циклу будівель та методи оцінки впливу будівель на навколишнє середовище на кожному етапі, нормативно-правову базу, особливості використання екологічних матеріалів, стандарти екологічної сертифікації (LEED, BREEAM, DGNB) та практичні приклади їх упровадження. Окрему увагу приділено ВІМ-інтегрованим технологіям аналізу життєвого циклу та цифровим інструментам OneClickLCA для моделювання приєднаних викидів. Посібник призначений для здобувачів вищої освіти будівельних і архітектурних спеціальностей, науковців та фахівців у галузі архітектури, будівництва та виробництва будівельних матеріалів.
