| dc.description.abstract | ENG: Contemporary society requires highly skilled professionals who are capable of not only excelling in the professional world but also becoming an integral part of society, communicating effectively, and solving problems. Successfully managing information flows in today’s professional environment requires a developed, higher-order mindset. All the competencies students acquire in their university coursework must be in demand by both the surrounding society, primarily employers, and the students themselves. Based on narrative review and case study approach, the study demonstrates mismatching, contradiction between real-world skills of critical thinking and creative analysis required by the contemporary labor market and often obsolete scholasticism inherent in HE teaching methodologies in academic writing domain. The findings also revealed high benefits and potential of academic texts in foreign language for developing high-order thinking skills in HE students. Conducted integrative analysis allowed suggesting FL academic texts implications integration into HE curricula and teaching methodology, based on IMRaD approach to reading, analysis, and writing FL academic texts will create the most favorable environment for developing critical thinking and creative analysis skills in students. | en |
