Innovative Approaches to Railway Track Alignment Optimization, in Curved Sections

ENG: The efficient advancement of railway transportation is impossible without the integration of cutting-edge innovations. This study places emphasis on the application of computer modeling for railway track alignment, enabling the determination of an optimal strategy for rectifying curves within the plan. This approach ensures enhanced accuracy and effectiveness in curve realignment efforts. The calculations involved in plan correction are not only essential for addressing track deviations but also for solving a set of challenges associated with increasing permissible travel speeds. Particular significance is attributed to the reconstruction of track alignment, especially for international routes transitioning from wide (1520 mm) to standard European gauge (1435 mm). The incorporation of innovative technologies for railway curve correction, along with line plan optimization across multiple track sections, facilitates the realization of maximum stipulated velocities while ensuring safety, smoothness of motion, and passenger comfort. The investigation results detailed in this paper were conducted with support from a grant provided by The National Research Foundation of Ukraine under the project, "Scientific Justification of the Introduction of the European Track on the Territory of Ukraine in the Post-War Period".
