Assessment of Processing Capacity of Railway Stations Based on Statistical Analysis Methods
(Institut za istraživanja i projektovanja u privredi, Beograd, 2025) Taran, Ihor; Tilemisova, Aigul; Kozachenko, Dmytro M.; Verlan, Anatoliy I.; Grevtsov, Serhii
ENG: The purpose of the study is to improve the methods of assessing the processing capacity of railway stations based on scientific observation data. The paper considers a large private station that provides transport services to port terminals when performing railway and water transportation. The research is performed based on methods of analysis of time series and theory of operation of railways. The study established the maximum permissible volume of work for the port station and also assessed the impact of the combination of diverse types of goods on the amount of its processing capacity. The scientific novelty of the work is to improve the methods of evaluating the processing capacity of railway stations based on the methods of statistical data analysis. Unlike the existing method, the method allows you to more accurately consider local features of stations. The practical value of the results obtained is that they allow to predict the work of the station in the conditions of accidental flow of port terminals requests for servicing and avoid overload. This enables the station management to develop more efficient strategies for managing its work.

Assessment of the Efficiency of Methods for Transporting Perishable Foods in the Conditions of Kazakhstan
(The Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland, 2024) Taran, Igor; Alik, Assel; Korobiova, Ruslana H.; Grevtsov, Serhii; Izteleuova, Maral
ENG: The purpose of the paper is to assess the competitiveness of road and rail transport for the transportation of perishable foods in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The study analyzed food consumption and production, as well as the transport network of the Republic of Kazakhstan. An assessment was made of the costs of transporting perishable foods by road, as well as by rail in railway cars and container trains. The modes of transportation were established, and it was found that the transportation of fresh food products in container trains is competitive with road transportation. The scientific novelty of the work is that it improves the method for assessing the competitiveness of road and rail transport for the transportation of fresh food products. The proposed method differs from existing ones in that it takes into account the loss of consumer value of food products over time while also considering the presence of competition by sources when choosing a type of transport. The practical value of the work is that it establishes the types of food products and directions of their transportation, the performance of which is advisable to carry out by container trains in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Optimization of Track Distribution of Industrial Railway Stations between Car Designations
(Dnipro University of Technology, Dnipro, Ukraine, 2023) Nurzhaubayev, Meiram; Grevtsov, Serhii; Korobiova, Ruslana H.; Manafov, Elshan; Abdukarimov, Sadratdin; Arpabekov, Muratbek
ENG: Purpose. To improve the method for distributing the tracks of industrial railway stations for the accumulation of car groups between separate assignments. The optimization problem is to find such a distribution of classification work between the industrial marshalling yard and freight stations, as well as such a distribution of marshalling yard tracks between individual destinations, which ensures the minimum time expenditures on shunting work. Methodology. The studies were carried out using the methods of the theory of railway operation, simulation modeling and dynamic programming. Findings. The optimization problem of distribution of sorting work between the marshalling yard and freight stations of an industrial enterprise, as well as searching for such a distribution of marshalling yard tracks between individual destinations, which ensures the minimum time expenditures for shunting work, has been solved. Originality. The paper proposes a method for formalizing and solving the problem of distributing the tracks of industrial railway stations for the accumulation of car groups between individual destinations as a dynamic programming problem. Unlike the existing methods, where the number of tracks is considered as a constraint, in the proposed method, the number of tracks is an objective function argument of minimizing the duration of shunting operations, which improves the quality of the solutions obtained. Practical value. The method proposed in the paper, due to the rational distribution of the existing track arrangement of railway stations, makes it possible to reduce the time expenditures on the making- and breaking-up the trains and shunting transfers and, due to this, increase the carrying capacity of the stations, as well as reduce the cost of production of enterprises.
