    Estimation of Dynamic Qualities of Freight Wagons on Bogies of a Perspective Model

    EN: The work provides an analysis of the impact of bogies of different construction on the main dynamic indicators of movement safety of freight wagons, in the present case, of gondola wagons: coefficient of vertical dynamics of a body frame (Кd), coefficient of vertical dynamics of the unsprung bogie frame (Кdu), relation of the frame force to the static axial load (Nf/Pa), coefficient of the stability reserve against derailment (Кs) [5, 8-11, 15, 17]. Scientific novelty includes the experimentally obtained dependences of the main dynamic indicators of motion of gondola wagons with the use of Model 18-9771 bogies, having different variants of bearers, this giving an opportunity for choice of bearer parameters for receiving the highest effect as regards the reduction of dynamic loading both of the wagon and the track. Of practical value are technical decisions concerning fastening of the bearers to the bolster beam, which are under protection of the patent for invention [18, 20], and stiffness parameters of bogie bearers.

    Increasing the Corrosion Resistance of the Center Plate Unit in Railway Freight Car

    ENG: One of the most damage-prone components of a freight car is the center plate, which is highly susceptible to wear and corrosion. This study investigated the application of a composite coating based on a FeCrNi alloy with the addition of chromium carbide (Cr₃C₂) to protect the steel surfaces of the center plate from corrosion and mechanical degradation. The coating was applied using laser cladding and subjected to comprehensive testing, including electrochemical analysis (OCP, polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy), microhardness measurements, and microstructure evaluation using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the coating exhibited a stable corrosion potential, low corrosion current density, and high impedance at low frequencies, indicating good protection against ion penetration and electrode reactivity, while significantly improving the microhardness of the base material. This study demonstrates the potential of the modified FeCrNi-based coating in extending the service life, enhancing the operational reliability, and increasing the corrosion resistance of center plates in freight cars.

    Mathematical Modeling of Dynamic Loading of Cassette Bearings for Freight Cars

    EN: The article deals with the solution of the contact problem of load car axle-box cassette bearings. A model of finite elements of axle-box tensely deformed state is presented. The problem has been solved by the combination of the finite elements method and the generalized power method. Due to the results, we can define mechanical properties.
