Computing and Optimization for DC Power Systems of Electric Transport
(World Scientific Publishing Europe Ltd., London, 2020) Bosyi, Dmytro O.; Sablin, Oleh I.; Kosariev, Yevhen
ENG: In the modern world, further development of society is impossible without environmentally friendly modes of transport and their effective interaction within the framework of Smart Energy and ECO-driving concepts. Written at a time of rapid development of information technologies in various fields, this book serves as a kind of bridge for the introduction of artificial intelligence into the electric transport power supply systems. The calculation models and methods proposed make it possible to choose the most efficient modern equipment for electric power supply of electric vehicles, which, as a result, saves investment costs and reduces time to make decisions for designing complex objects. Insight is also given into building and adjusting Smart Energy class equipment to achieve optimal and economical modes.

Embedded AI for Audio-Based Drone Detection in Critical Railway Infrastructure
(Silesian University of Technology, Poland, 2025) Bosyi, Dmytro O.; Sablin, Oleh I.; Potapchuk, Iryna Yu.; Usenko, Andrii Yu.
ENG: Summary. With the increasing threat of unmanned aerial vehicles to critical railway infrastructure, the need for advanced detection technologies has become more urgent. This paper reviews existing railway monitoring solutions and outlines their limitations in identifying aerial threats. An acoustic analysis is conducted to extract distinctive unmanned aerial vehicle sound patterns using Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients, which serve as primary features for classification. Neural network models are applied to detect and differentiate aerial threats from environmental noise, achieving high recognition accuracy. The study also describes the development of an embedded artificial intelligence system based on STM32 microcontrollers, which combines real-time digital signal processing with efficient on-device neural inference. This solution offers a scalable and energy-efficient platform for decentralized audio-based drone detection in railway security applications.

Intelligent Technologies for Efficient Power Supply in Transport Systems
(Silesian University of Technology, 2017) Bosyi, Dmytro O.; Sablin, Oleh I.; Khomenko, Iryna Yu.; Kosariev, Yevhen M.; Kebal, Ivan Yu.; Myamlin, Sergii S.
EN: The main directions of development of the energy-saving technologies in electrified transport systems are considered in the article with taking into account the flexible regulating features of modern power equipment. The proposed theory and principles of functioning allow understanding the optimal control laws for converters, accumulators, and renewable energy sources in their integration into traction power supply systems. Research opens the possibility of the installed power of the required equipment in minimizing and reducing the capital costs for energy-saving technologies. Also, combination of all developed approaches will provide the system effect.

Methods and Results of Evaluating the Dual-Power Electric Train Crew Elements Service Life
(IOP Publishing, 2020) Horobets, Volodymyr L.; Sablin, Oleh I.; Fedorov, Yevhen F.; Horobets, Yevhen; Bolotov, Oleksij O.; Jangulova, Olga L.
EN: The article assesses the long-term strength of the vibration damper assembly of a double power transmission of electric trains manufactured by «Hyundai-Rotem Company». The technique is described and the analysis of the service life of the elements of the chassis of the electric train is made. The presence and nature of micro cracks in the loaded elements of the vibration damper assembly was evaluated after a full cycle of vibration bench tests. The influence of vertical vibrations of the electric train body on the level of dynamic load and the service life of the bearing elements of the vibration damper assembly is considered. The service life of the vibration damper at the end of the service life has been estimated by comparing working hours and “statistical playback”. The calculation of the resource by the method of "statistical reproduction" confirms the possibility of operating the vibration damping module (second modernization) for 50 years from the date of construction. The influence of the vibration damper position on its dynamic loading is checked. The main stages and sequence of tests for estimation the resource of the longitudinal vibration damper module of a double-fed electric train are also considered, including methodological, calculated and experimental confirmation of the reliability and durability of the unit, which was studied as part of a comprehensive work.
