Item type:Item, Interaction of Economic Systems in the World under the Influence of Global Trends: The Role of International Trade and Investment(Pacific Academy of Higher Education & Research University, Udaipur (Rajasthan), India, 2024) Sokhatska, Olena; Savitskaya, Maryia; Zavhorodnia, Olena O.; Yemets, Vadym; Naumov, MaksymENG: This study explores that how Foreign Direct Investment and trade openness impact the economic interaction by considering economic globalization, as assessed by the KOF index. The basic idea endogenous growth theory is applied globally from 2001 and 2021. The study utilizes the econometric techniques of three-stage least squares and seemingly unrelated regression. The findings suggest that foreign direct investment play a significant role in fostering economic interaction inside specific countries. There is a strong and positive relationship between foreign direct investment and economic interaction. Foreign Direct Investment often serves as the main channel via which advanced technology are transferred to countries. The results indicate that the advantages of this venture would be greatly upgraded in the host country with a more grounded and more skilled labor force. Furthermore, the results suggest that foreign direct investment promotes domestic investment. For FDI-driven growth to occur, it is necessary to have institutional stability and sound macroeconomic policies in place. Our findings indicate that global economic connection can be promoted by reducing the inflation rate, tax collection problem, and government consumption.Item type:Item, Smart-Projects of Regional Development: Content, Taxonomic Identifiers, and Project Management Specifics(Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology, Dnipro, 2025) Deliiev, S. K.; Zavhorodnia, Olena O.ENG: This research examines the theoretical and methodological foundations of initiating, developing, and implementing smart-projects of regional development as a unique form of implementing the smart economy concept on the regional level. This research builds on the fundamental concept of human-machine intellectual systems. It presents an original interpretation of the “smart-project for regional development” concept and develops a system of taxonomic identifiers. These identifiers clearly differentiate smart-projects from ordinary digitalization initiatives. This research defines seven attributive characteristics that form the content of smart-projects: intellectual core, knowledge-information orientation, adaptive potential, synergistic properties, integrative architecture, transformational capability, and cognitive processes. This study develops a classification matrix of smart-projects based on their smart component development level, with clear criteria for each level and subsequent categorization into four functional groups: “traditional projects,” “projects with digitalization elements,” “entry-level smart-projects” and “advanced smart-projects.” The paper examines smart project management features, analyzing modifications to the project and management cycles, differences in decision-making tools, and methodological approaches to forecasting and evaluating project effectiveness and efficiency. Practical recommendations are formulated for identifying and implementing smart-projects on the regional level. The research results have significant theoretical and practical value for developing and implementing smart specialization strategies for Ukrainian regions within the context of current global economic transformations.Item type:Item, Trade Policy Reversion: Quantifying the Diversionary Impact of Non-Tariff Barriers on Bilateral Trade Flows (2015–2024)(RITHA Publishing House, Craiova, Romania, 2025) Pashchuk, Lidiia; Lvova, Nina; Zavhorodnia, Olena O.; Zhmurenko, Vitalii H.; Runcheva, NataliiaENG: In recent years, protectionism has become a hallmark of the global economy and international trade. This study quantifies the measurable impact of tariff and non-tariff barriers on bilateral trade flows among 30 major economies from 2015 to 2024. Employing a panel data gravity model, the paper specifies the logarithm of bilateral trade flows as the dependent variable, with average tariff rates and a non-tariff measures (NTM) index as key explanatory variables, while controlling for GDP, exchange rate volatility, distance, and trade agreements. Estimations are performed using fixed-effects and instrumental-variable approaches to address potential endogeneity and unobserved heterogeneity. The empirical results reveal that a one-percentage-point increase in tariffs reduces bilateral trade flows by 0.12%, while a 0.1-point rise in the NTM index lowers trade by 3.5%, confirming the diversionary effects of modern protectionism. The findings demonstrate that regulatory protectionism exerts stronger trade-restrictive effects than traditional tariffs, particularly in technology-intensive sectors. Policymakers are urged to design adaptive trade strategies that preserve national competitiveness while maintaining open global trade channels to ensure sustainable growth.
