В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Беляев, Николай Николаевич; Калашников, Иван Владимирович; Клименко, Ирина Владимировна; Козачина, Виталий АнатольевичRU: Цель. Работа предполагает разработку 3D численной модели для оценки территориального риска в случае теракта с использованием химического агента. Методика. Для описания процесса рассеивания в атмосфере химического агента, выброшенного в случае теракта, используется трехмерное уравнение массопереноса примеси в атмосферном воздухе. Уравнение учитывает поле скорости ветрового потока, атмосферную диффузию, интенсивность эмиссии химического агента, наличие зданий возле места выброса химически опасного вещества. Для численного интегрирования моделирующего уравнения используется конечноразностный метод. Особенностью разработанной численной модели является возможность оценки территориального риска в случае теракта при различных метеоусловиях и наличии зданий. Для расчета поля скорости ветрового потока в условиях застройки применяется трехмерное уравнение для потенциала скорости. Результаты. Разработанная численная модель и пакет программ могут быть использованы для оценки территориального риска как в случае терактов с применением химических агентов, так и в случае экстремальных ситуаций на химически опасных объектах и транспорте. Построенная численная модель может быть реализована на компьютерах малой и средней мощности, что позволяет широко использовать ее для решения задач рассматриваемого класса, при разработке плана ликвидации аварийной ситуации. Представлены результаты вычислительного эксперимента, позволяющие оценить возможности предложенного метода оценки территориального риска в случае теракта с использованием химического агента. Научная новизна. Предложена эффективная численная модель для оценки территориального риска в случае теракта с применением химически опасного вещества. Метод может быть использован для оценки территориального риска в условиях городской застройки, что позволяет получать адекватные данные о возможных зонах поражения. Метод основан на численном интегрировании фундаментального уравнения массопереноса, выражающего закон сохранения массы в жидкой среде. Практическая значимость. Предложенный метод оценки территориального риска в случае теракта с применением химического агента может быть использован для расчета зон поражения возле административных зданий, центров и других социально значимых объектов.Item 4 (76) випуск. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Toporkova, Olena A.; Shylo, Liliya A.EN: Purpose. The work is dedicated to systematization of basic directions for financial analysis taking into account the specific features of railway industry. Methodology. In the course of the research there were used the methods of analysis and synthesis to study the content and basic provisions of scientific publications on the chosen topic. Findings. The railway industry has a specific system of financial relations. Knowing the objective development laws of the industry technological system, you can create an appropriate mechanism for managing it and its resources. The selection of the necessary method of analysis and system of indicators, which will provide a comprehensive study and representation of the enterprise activity, is fundamental for the adoption of management decisions. Financial analysis is an important element of analytical work for the needs of modern management. With the help of financial analysis it is possible to determine the place of the enterprise among other subjects of the industry; to assess the structure of capital and the dynamics of enterprise development. Consequently, the quality of the decisions taken completely depends on the analytical substantiation. Financial analysis is carried out according to certain groups of economic indicators, which give an overall assessment of the financial condition of the enterprise, the profitability of its activities and long-term solvency. The analysis of the financial and economic condition is an important part of effective management of the formation, placement and use of rail transport resources. The features of conducting and interpreting the analysis results of the financial condition at the structural units of PJSC «Ukrzaliznytsia» – regional branches, branch affiliates, production units (if they have a balance sheet), – are explained by the specifics of their economic activities. Originality. The obtained results allow us to consider financial reporting as an informational and analytical provision of financial analysis taking into account the specifics of the corporate railway industry relations. The method of financial analysis should be consistent with the strategic objectives of the business entity, which are determined by the system of strategic management and investment and financial planning of the railway industry. Practical value. The assessment of the financial condition of an enterprise can be objectively carried out using a system of indicators that take into account the technological specificity of the rail transport, comprehensively characterizing the results of its activities and reflect the competence of management through the quality of the decisions taken.Item Anti-Terror Engineering in the Case of Possible Terrorist Attacks with Chemical Agents(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту імені академіка В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Biliaev, Nikolai N.; Berlov, Oleksandr V.; Kalashnikov, Ivan V.; Kozachyna, Vitalii A.ENG: Purpose. This work aims to develop a method of local outdoor reduction of the concentration of a chemically hazardous substance, which entered the atmosphere through a cafe roof vent. It also involves the creation of a numerical model for calculating the chemical contamination zone that allows assessing the effectiveness of the screens used to minimize its level. Methodology. To solve this problem, we used the velocity potential equation that al-lowed to determine the air flow velocity field, and the equation of convective diffusion dispersion of a chemically hazardous agent in the atmospheric air emitted through the ventilation system in case of a terrorist attack. The simulation took into account the uneven velocity field of the wind flow, atmospheric diffusion, emission rate of a chemically hazardous agent. In the numerical integration of the velocity potential equation, we used the Liebmann method. For the numerical solution of the equation of convective diffusion dispersion of the impurity, an implicit alternate-triangular difference splitting scheme was used. Findings. The developed numerical model allowed assessing the effectiveness of building screens used to reduce the concentration of a hazardous substance and minimize the risk of toxic damage to people outdoor during an initiated emission of a chemical agent. The constructed numerical model can be implemented on computers of low and medium power, which allows it to be widely used for solving problems of the class under consideration when developing an anti-terror engineering strategy. Originality. An effective numerical model for calculating the outdoor chemical contamination zone during a possible terrorist attack using a chemical (biological) agent has been proposed. The model can also be applied to assess the effectiveness of some protective measures aimed at reducing the air pollution level during a terrorist attack. Practical value. The developed numerical model can be used to organize protective actions near social objects of a possible chemical attack by a terrorist.Item Assesment of the Railway Influence on the Heavy Metal Accumulation in Soil(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту ім. акад. В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Samarska, Alla V.; Zelenko, Yuliya V.EN: Purpose. The scientific paper aims at analyzing the current state of the railway infrastructure soil contamination with heavy metals (HM), namely, the three stations of Prydniprovska railway: Kamianske-Pasazhyrske, Zaporizhzhia-Kamianske and Trytuzna. Methodology. The research object is the soil of the above mentioned railway stations, the research subject is the total content of HM. Sampling was carried out every 15 m between and outside both rails up to the end of railway ties. The total area of the investigated sites is 600 m2 . The total form of Fe, Pb, Zn, Cu, Ni, Cd and Mn concentration was determined by the atomic absorption spectrometry method. The obtained data were compared with the background concentration of HM for Dnipropetrovsk oblast and the results of analyzing the reference control located at a distance of 250 m from the railway stations. Findings. It is found out that rail transport is a source of HM emission into soil. The findings indicate that the soil state of the Kamianske-Pasazhyrske station corresponds to a low ecological risk and a low degree of pollution, since the station is a passenger one only and pollution occurs mostly due to the friction of wheels and rails and that of the pantograph and overhead system, as well as the pesticide use. The soil contamination of the Zaporizhzhia-Kamianske station is characterized by a considerable potential environmental risk and a very high degree of pollution. This station is a cargo-passenger one, and this pollution level is mainly due to loading and unloading processes. The soil of the Trytuzna station is characterized by an average potential ecological risk and a moderate degree of pollution. Although this station is mainly used for the freight trains reformation, but due to the transportation of large volumes of bulk ore cargoes HM fall into soil. Besides, the station is not electrified. Recommendations for assessment of the soil pollution levels are given. Originality. For the first time the potential ecological risk of soil contamination was determined on the basis of the physical and chemical analysis of the HM content in the soil of the above-mentioned stations. Practical value. The results of the study can be used as a justification of the reasonability of introducing the environmental monitoring programs for the railway land, the environmental protection measures for the soil treatment from HM, correcting the railway exclusion zone, as well as protection of adjacent territories from the propagation and accumulation of the mentioned pollutants. The necessity and urgency of the constant control of the HM content in the railway soil and the relevance of the research continuation in this scientific direction are confirmed on the basis of the received data.Item Calculation of «Vulnerability» Zone in Case of Terrorist Attack with Chemical Agents(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту ім. акад. В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Biliaiev, Mykola M.; Berlov, Oleksandr V.; Kalashnikov, Ivan V.; Kozachyna, Vitalii A.EN: Purpose. The work involves the development of a numerical model for calculating the «vulnerability» zone of a possible terrorist attack objective with the use of a chemical agent in a builtup environment. The «vulnerability» zone is a territory near the attack objective, where the emission of a chemical agent during the attack will lead to undesirable consequences. The emission of a chemical agent outside the «vulnerability» zone will not create a dangerous concentration near the attack objective. Methodology. To solve this problem, we use the equation for the velocity potential, on the basis of which we determine the wind stream velocity field, and the equation adjoint to the equation of mass transfer in the atmospheric air of the chemical agent emitted in the event of a terrorist attack. During simulation, we take into account the uneven wind stream velocity field, atmospheric diffusion and the rate of emission of a chemically hazardous substance. For the numerical integration of the velocity potential equation, we use the method of A. A. Samarsky. For numerical solution of the adjoint equation, we introduce new variables and use an implicit difference splitting scheme. The peculiarity of the developed numerical model is the possibility of operative estimation of the «vulnerability» zone near a possible attack objective. Findings. The developed numerical model and computer program can be used for scientifically grounded assessment of the «vulnerability» zone near significant facilities in the event of possible attacks with the use of chemical (biological) agents. The constructed numerical model can be implemented on computers of small and medium power, which allows it to be widely used to solve the problems of this class when developing the emergency response plan. The results of the computational experiment are presented, which allow us to evaluate the possibilities of the proposed numerical model. Originality. An effective numerical model is proposed for calculating the «vulnerability» zone near the facility, which may be the target of a terrorist attack with the use of a chemical agent. The model is based on the numerical integration of the velocity potential equation and the equation adjoint to the equation of mass transfer of a chemically dangerous substance in the atmosphere. Practical value. The developed model can be used to organize protective actions near the target facility of a possible chemical attack by terrorists.Item Choosing the System of Locomotive Maintenance in View of the Effect of Dependent Failures(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту імені академіка В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Bodnar, Borys Ye.; Ochkasov, Oleksandr B.; Hryshechkina, Tatiana S.; Bodnar, Yevhen B.ENG: Purpose. Improving the efficiency of the use of locomotives by choosing a rational maintenance system that takes into account the assessment of the effect of dependent failures on the cost of their life cycle is the main purpose of this paper. Methodology. The relevance of introducing LCC (life cycle cost) approaches in locomotive facilities is explained by the introduction of new locomotives with on-board control and diagnostic systems, as well as the development of the theory of traction rolling stock maintenance systems. The cost of a locomotive as a traction unit ceases to be the determining factor. This is because the locomotive maintenance and repair cost for the entire period of its operation is much higher than the initial cost of the locomotive. The paper analyses the existing approaches to managing the cost of the life cycle of locomotives at the stages of selecting, updating, upgrading and operating the traction rolling stock. The necessity of improving the methods for assessing the degree of influence of reliability indicators of locomotive assemblies on the choice of the maintenance system and the cost of the locomotive life cycle is substantiated. Findings. It is proposed to use the concept of «the effect of dependent failures» when calculating the cost of locomotive renewal after unscheduled repairs and its life cycle cost. We improved the methods for determining the cost of unscheduled repairs, taking into account dependent failures and the coefficient of assessment of the effect of dependent node failure on the locomotive maintenance system. The proposed coefficient will determine the nodes, the failure of which affects the renewal cost more than their nominal value. It will also help to take into account the probable losses due to node failure during the development and adjustment of the locomotive maintenance system. Originality. For the first time, it is proposed to use the concept of the effect of de-pendent failures to calculate the locomotive renewal cost when performing unscheduled repairs, as well as the loco-motive life cycle cost. Practical value. The improved calculation method for determining the cost of unplanned repairs with account taken of dependent failures can be used to compare and evaluate different variants of the locomotive maintenance system and to develop the locomotive diagnostic systems.Item Determination of Characteristics of Throttling Device for Pneumatic Spring(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту імені академіка В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Reidemeister, Oleksii H.; Laguza, Anastasiia V.EN: Purpose. This paper focuses on determination of the dependence of the working medium flow on the capacity of the throttling device, its geometric features and the pressure difference in the pneumatic spring cylinder and in the auxiliary reservoir. Methodology. Calculation of the dependence of the working medium and pressure drop is performed in two ways: 1) by numerical simulation of a stationary gas flow through a throttling element; 2) its analytical calculation expression using empirical relationships (control calculation to evaluate the reliability of numerical simulation results). For the calculation, three models of throttling devices were chosen. Dependence of the flow rate of the working medium on the capacity of the throttling device and its geometric features was determined based on the approximation of the dependency graphs of the pressure drop against the mass flow rate of the working medium. Findings. We obtained graphical dependencies between the pressure drop and the mass flow rate of the working medium from the two calculation options. Based on the results of calculations performed with the help of a software package with visualization of the results, we calculated a proportionality coefficient that describes the dependence of the working medium flow on the throttling device capacity and its geometric features for each of the throttling elements considered, with three degrees of closure. The air flow values, obtained by numerical simulation, are greater than the flow rates obtained from semi-empirical formulas. At the same time, they are in good qualitative agreement, and the quantitative difference averages 25%, which can be regarded as confirmation of the reliability of the numerical model. Based on the calculation results, we plotted the proportionality coefficient graphs against the degree of closure of the throttling device. Originality. The work allows determining the degree of influence of the frictional component on the variation of the pressure difference in the pneumatic cylinder and the auxiliary reservoir of the pneumatic suspension system. Also, the work proposes a method to determine the dependence of the working medium on the capacity of the throttling device and its geometric features. Practical value. The ability to predict the operating parameters of the pneumatic system depending on the pneumatic resistance of the throttling device will improve the car running characteristics, increase the comfort of passenger transport, and also reduce the wear of the rolling stock and track gauge due to vehicle-track interaction.Item Efficiency of Modernization of Wheel-Motor Blocks using Anti-Friction Traction Motor Support Bearings(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту ім. акад. В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Kapitsa, Mykhaylo I.; Gnennyi, O. M.; Bobyr, Dmytro V.ENG: Purpose. The use of anti-friction traction motor support bearings (TMSB) instead of plain friction traction motor support bearings is a priority direction of locomotive development both for newly constructed locomotives and for those in operation. The solution of the set tasks for introduction of wheel-motor blocks (WMB) with anti-friction bearings demanded the search for alternative variants and new technical solutions. The purpose of the article is to determine the feasibility of re-equipping the diesel locomotive wheel-motor blocks with anti-friction bearings through the life cycle calculation (LCC). Methodology. The procedure and criteria for assessing the economic efficiency of project (investment) proposals and investment projects approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine envisage that the cost-effectiveness analysis of an investment project is carried out according to the following criteria: net present value, internal rate of return, discounted payback period and profitability index. The use of these criteria of economic efficiency fully corresponds to modern principles, theoretical-methodical approaches and world practice in evaluating the efficiency of investments. The evaluation of the technical and economic efficiency of the modernization of the diesel locomotive wheel-motor block is made on the basis of calculation and comparison of the following criteria: the net present value (NPV) of modernization, the internal rate of return (IRR), the profitability index (PI) and the discount payback period. Findings. The results of the calculations of the values of the main criteria show that the innovative project for the modernization of the locomotive provides a high level of economic efficiency. At the same time, the value of the discounted payback period of investments in modernization indicates that it is expedient to carry out this operation if the residual life of the upgraded locomotive of the M62 series is at least 15 months. Originality. Taking into account the specifics of the type of locomotive work in freight traffic, we developed a method to determine the individual components of the average annual economic effect of modernization of the diesel locomotive wheel-motor block, which includes saving of oil costs, repairing and servicing the diesel locomotive wheel-motor unit, as well as change of TMSB brass and saving fuel costs for traction. Practical value. The results of the work make it possible to determine the expediency of modernization of diesel locomotives taking into account the features and conditions of their operation and the specifics of modernization.Item Formation Peculiarities of Financial Resources of PJSC «Ukrainian Railway»(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту ім. акад. В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Lomtieva, Iryna M.; Snachov, Mykola P.; Toporkova, Olena A.; Shylo, Liliya A.EN: Purpose. The need for technological modernization of the railway industry in Ukraine, creation of favorable conditions for investment and introduction of innovations in the industry require significant financial resources. The purpose of the article is investigation of possible sources of attracting financial resources necessary for development of Ukrainian railway transport, in particular, during further organizational arrangements and procedures for the rail-way industry corporatization to search for ways to optimize them. Methodology. During research the methods of comparison, scientific search, analysis and synthesis were used to study the existing sources of financing for corpo-rations abroad and at Ukrainian enterprises. Findings. Analysis of the existing and search for more efficient sources of financial resources necessary for financing Ukrainian railway transport modernization in the process of the rail-way industry corporatization is carried out. The growth of the financial results share in the amount of internal own resources is achieved by taking measures to increase profits. A significant part of the economic activities financing can be provided by issuing corporate bonds with the presence of positive effect of the financial leverage. Accounting of the financial leverage effect is an efficient tool for optimizing the structure of the share capital and determining the expediency of loan resources. In the process of corporatization, PJSC «Ukrzaliznytsia» should create an efficient system of financial resources that fully takes into account the specifics of its activities, motivates to increase labor productivity with the ultimate purpose of ensuring the external competitiveness of the Ukrainian railway industry. Originality. Based on the study of scientific and methodological sources, as well as the analysis of sources for financing the economic activities of railway transport, the ways of their optimization are proposed. Practical value. Introduction of the proposed approaches will make it possible to justify the economic feasibility and proportionality of internal and external sources of the railway transport financing under the conditions of corpo-ratization.Item Human Factor Influence on Performing Technical Maintenance and Repair of Freight Cars(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту імені академіка В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Shaposhnyk, Vladyslav Yu.EN: Purpose. The scientific work is aimed to: 1) study the indicators and criteria for evaluating the influence of hu-man factor on failure-free operation of freight cars; 2) theoretically describe the probabilistic model of the human factor role during the maintenance and repair of freight cars according to technical state; 3) consider the model of situation development for the case of a critical defect of the freight car unit taking into account the human factor. Methodology. In order to achieve this purpose, the methodological approaches were considered: 1) to evaluation of the reliability indicators in the system «man – freight car» during maintenance and repair; 2) to evaluation of the level of traffic safety in case of transition from the existing system of maintenance and repair of freight cars to the system according to technical state. The model of the situation development for the case of a critical defect of the freight car unit with the consideration of the human factor was described. Findings. The approach to the evaluation of risk indicators of potential failures of freight cars is given. The probability of occurrence of negative events (risks) and possible economic damage from their manifestation were taken as the indicators. In the developed model of situation development for the case of a critical defect of the freight car unit with the consideration of the human factor, three possible states are shown: workable and limited workable, unworkable and emergency. Each initial state is characterized by the development of events, which is associated with designers` errors, with defects during manufacture of parts and units, with human factor. Originality. It is proposed to consider the value of the failure probability, which is related to the human factor, as a certain proportion of the overall probability of failure of the system «man – freight car». The interpretation of Harrington's desirability function for the case of application to freight cars is given. During maintenance and repair, it is suggested to introduce an indicator that characterizes the observance of the technology of use of maintenance services for freight cars, taking into account the human factor. Practical value. Based on the conducted research it is possible to evaluate the influence of the human factor on the maintenance and repair of freight cars. According to the developed model of situation development for the case of a critical defect it is possible to determine the critical level of the defect of the freight car unit taking into account the human factor to limit the risk of an accident or transport event.Item Identifying Threats in Computer Network Based on Multilayer Neural Network(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту імені академіка В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Zhukovyts’kyy, Igor V.; Pakhomova, Victoria M.ENG: Purpose. Currently, there appear more often the reports of penetration into computer networks and attacks on the Web-server. Attacks are divided into the following categories: DoS, U2R, R2L, Probe. The purpose of the article is to identify threats in a computer network based on network traffic parameters using neural network technology, which will protect the server. Methodology. The detection of such threats as Back, Buffer_overflow, Quess_password, Ipsweep, Neptune in the computer network is implemented on the basis of analysis and processing of data on the parameters of network connections that use the TCP/IP protocol stack using the 19-1-25-5 neural network configuration in the Fann Explorer program. When simulating the operation of the neural network, a training (430 examples), a testing (200 examples) and a control sample (25 examples) were used, based on an open KDDCUP-99 database of 500000 connection records. Findings. The neural network created on the control sample determined an error of 0.322. It is determined that the configuration network 19-1-25-5 copes well with such attacks as Back, Buffer_overflow and Ipsweep. To detect the attacks of Quess_password and Neptune, the task of 19 network traffic parameters is not enough. Originality. We obtained dependencies of the neural network training time (number of epochs) on the number of neurons in the hidden layer (from 10 to 55) and the number of hidden layers (from 1 to 4). When the number of neurons in the hidden layer increases, the neural network by Batch algorithm is trained almost three times faster than the neural network by Resilient algorithm. When the number of hidden layers increases, the neural network by Resilient algorithm is trained almost twice as fast as that by Incremental algorithm. Practical value. Based on the network traffic parameters, the use of 19-1-25-5 configuration neural network will allow to detect in real time the computer network threats Back, Buffer_overflow, Quess_password, Ipsweep, Neptune and to perform appropriate monitoring.Item Improvement of Supervisory Control of Train Movement by Means of Introduction of Operational Zones(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту імені академіка В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Nesterenko, Halyna I.; Bekh, Petro V.; Muzykin, Mykhailo I.; Avramenko, Svetlana I.ENG: Purpose. The work is aimed to investigate the feasibility of transferring automatic control to low-density stations of the sections (according to the principle of supervisory control of train line) to the operators at principal stations. Methodology. The article analyzes the work of heavy traffic sections of the Ukrainian Railways JSC. It was found out that the information workload of dispatchers who control the train movement at the sections of the main course, constantly exceeds the permissible level. The possibility of using the technology of supervisory control of train movement by the introduction of operational zones has been investigated. Findings. The authors found out that the capacity of receiving and departure tracks at the stations of the sections is extremely limited. The occupancy of passing loop by the out-of-work trains hinders any regulatory measures at the sections. Trains pass one after another without giving priority, that is, they pass through the section in the order in which they entered it. Due to the limited number of tracks at the front-line intermediate station, freight trains are set for passing by the passenger ones at the distant approaches. This leads to a loss of service speed and reduces the level of utilization of the sections` working capacity. The introduction of operational zones will significantly reduce information flows and facilitate the work of the train dispatchers at the, create the necessary conditions for creative decision-making on the internal section regulation, and will contribute to increase in the service speed of trains. Originality. The article developed a new technology to improve the management of train sections by dividing them into operational zones. In each zone, consisting of two or three passes, the train movement can be controlled by the duty officer of the principal station, performing in this case the functions of the train dispatcher. Practical value. It has been proposed to put trains from technical stations that idle due to uneven movement, especially the trains from the terminal stations (division points) of the locomotive circulation sections, to reserve routes of the front-line intermediate stations. Laying the reserve tracks and their content, taking into account the frequency of use and reduced allowable speed, can be allowed according to less tight standards for the construction of the roadbed, ballast section, sleeper density, taking into account the use of switches and decommissioned tracks.Item Mathematical Model of Unsteady Heat Transfer of Passenger Car with Heating System(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту імені академіка В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2018) Biloshytskyi, Eduard V.EN: Purpose. The existing mathematical models of unsteady heat processes in a passenger car do not fully reflect the thermal processes, occurring in the car wits a heating system. In addition, unsteady heat processes are often studied in steady regime, when the heat fluxes and the parameters of the thermal circuit are constant and do not depend on time. In connection with the emergence of more effective technical solutions to the life support system there is a need for creating a new mathematical apparatus, which would allow taking into account these features and their influence on the course of unsteady heat processes throughout the travel time. The purpose of this work is to create a mathematical model of the heat regime of a passenger car with a heating system that takes into account the unsteady heat processes. Methodology. To achieve this task the author composed a system of differential equations, describing unsteady heat processes during the heating of a passenger car. For the solution of the composed system of equations, the author used the method of elementary balances. Findings. The paper presents the developed numerical algorithm and computer program for simulation of transitional heat processes in a locomotive traction passenger car, which allows taking into account the various constructive solutions of the life support system of passenger cars and to simulate unsteady heat processes at any stage of the trip. Originality. For the first time the author developed a mathematical model of heat processes in a car with a heating system, that unlike existing models, allows to investigate the unsteady heat engineering performance in the cabin of the car under different operating conditions and compare the work of various life support systems from the point of view their constructive solutions. Practical value. The work presented the developed mathematical model of the unsteady heat regime of the passenger car with a heating system to estimate the efficiency of unsteady, transitional temperature states in passenger cars, taking into account the design features of the heating system and the regulatory requirements. This allows the development and implementation of optimal technical characteristics of heating appliances and the construction of an algorithm for controlling their operation in accordance with operating conditions, taking into account the thermal inertia of the car in the transitional modes of heating, on the basis of mathematical modeling.Item Modeling of Biological Wastewater Treatment on the Basis of Quick-Computing Numerical Model(Дніпропетровський національний університет залізничного транспорту імені академіка В. The scientific paper involves the development of quick computing numerical model for prediction of output parameters of aeration tank. The numerical model may be used in predicting the effectiveness of aeration tank under different regimes of work. Methodology. To simulate the process of biological wastewater treatment in aeration tank numerical models were developed. The flow field in the aeration tank is simulated on the basis of potential flow model. 2-D transport equations are used to simulate substrate and sludge dispersion in the aeration tank. To simulate the process of biological treatment simplified model. For the numerical integration of transport equations implicit difference scheme was used. The difference scheme is built for splitting transport equations. Splitting of transport equation into two equations is carried out at differential level. The first equation of splitting takes into account the sludge or substrate movement along trajectories. The second splitting equation takes into account the diffusive process of substrate or sludge. To solve the splitting equations implicit difference scheme was used. For the numerical integration of potential flow equation the implicit scheme of conditional approximation was used. On the basis of constructed numerical model computer experiment was performed to investigate the process of biological treatment in aeration tank. Findings. Quick computing numerical model to simulate the process of biological treatment in the aeration tank was developed. The model can be used to obtain aeration tank parameters under different regimes of work. The developed model takes into account the geometrical form of the aeration tank. Originality. The numerical model which takes into account the geometrical form of aeration tank and fluid dynamics process was developed; the model takes into account substrate and sludge transport in aeration tank and process of biological treatment. Practical value. Efficient numerical model, so called «diagnostic models» was proposed for quick calculation of biological treatment process in aeration tank.
