UKR: Автори досліджують розвиток і сучасний стан питань накопичення структуру, властивості, параметри, функції, місце серед інших фондів документів та багато іншого. Але поява якісно нового виду документа – електронного – зумовила необхідність переосмислення документного ресурсу людства. Бібліотечне фондознавство – це фундаментальна наукова та навчальна дисципліна, яка включає розгляд усього комплексу питань, пов’язаних з бібліотечним фондом: поняття бібліотечного фонду. Бібліотечне фондознавство змушене торувати нові шляхи, пропонуючи нову наукову галузь – документознавство.

ENG: The authors study the development and current state of issues related to the accumulation of the documentary resource of humanity. Library fund science is a fundamental scientific and educational discipline that includes consideration of the entire complex of issues related to the library fund: structure, properties, parameters, functions, place among other document funds, and many others. But the appearance of a qualitatively new type of document - electronic - has made it necessary to rethink the concept of the library fund. Library fund science is forced to pave new paths, offering a new scientific branch – documentology.
