| dc.description.abstract | UKR: У статті розглядалося, як російська історична наука забирала собі спадщину Київської Русі та створювала імперську версію історії, яка віками спотворювала правду про походження української держави й забирала в українського народу його власне історичне коріння. Перетворення історії Київської Русі на «початок російської держави» стало головною підвалиною російської імперської ідеї і досі використовується в сучасній пропаганді. У статті простежено, як будувався цей імперський міф: починаючи з «Синопсису» Інокентія Гізеля 1674 року, який до початку дев'ятнадцятого століття був головним історичним підручником у Російській імперії, через великі праці Миколи Карамзіна й аж до шовіністичної теорії Михайла Погодіна про начебто переселення давньокиївського населення на північ. Показано, як ці імперські вигадки перетворилися на радянську теорію про «давньоруську народність» – теорію, що прикрила імперську суть радянської держави гаслами про інтернаціоналізм, хоча насправді нічого не змінилося. Окремо йдеться про те, як Михайло Грушевський науково розвінчав цю імперську схему. У своїх десяти томах "Історії України-Русі" Грушевський зробив те, що можна назвати революцією в історичній науці: він показав, що українці – це прямі нащадки людей Київської Русі, а наша історія тягнеться від тих часів до сьогодення без жодних розривів. І що цікаво – те, що писав Грушевський, зараз підтверджується новими археологічними розкопками й дослідженнями мови, тож його праця й досі залишається потужною зброєю проти всіх тих імперських байок. Розглядається актуальність проблеми в умовах повномасштабної російської агресії проти України та використання імперського наративу про «спільну колиску народів» для обґрунтування територіальних претензій і заперечення права українців на власну державність. Обґрунтовується необхідність деколонізації історичної науки та громадської свідомості, звільнення від термінологічних нашарувань імперської історіографії та утвердження науково обґрунтованої концепції України-Русі як ранньоукраїнської держави. | uk_UA |
| dc.description.abstract | ENG: The article examined how Russian historical scholarship appropriated the heritage of Kyivan Rus and constructed an imperial version of history that distorted the truth about the origins of the Ukrainian state for centuries and stripped the Ukrainian people of their own historical roots. The transformation of Kyivan Rus history into "the beginning of the Russian state" became the cornerstone of Russian imperial ideology and continues to be used in modern propaganda. The article traced how this imperial myth was built: starting with Innokentiy Gizel's "Synopsis" from 1674, which remained the main history textbook in the Russian Empire until the early nineteenth century, through the major works of Nikolay Karamzin, and up to Mikhail Pogodin's chauvinist theory about the supposed migration of ancient Kyivan population to the north. It showed how these imperial fabrications evolved into the Soviet theory of "ancient Rus nationality" – a theory that masked the imperial nature of the Soviet state with slogans about internationalism, though in reality nothing had changed. Special attention was given to how Mykhailo Hrushevsky scientifically debunked this imperial scheme. In his ten-volume "History of Ukraine-Rus," Hrushevsky accomplished what can be called a revolution in historical scholarship: he demonstrated that Ukrainians are the direct descendants of the people of Kyivan Rus, and our history extends from those times to the present day without any breaks. And what's interesting is that what Hrushevsky wrote is now being confirmed by new archaeological excavations and linguistic studies, so his work remains a powerful weapon against all those imperial fairy tales. The article addresses the relevance of this issue in the context of Russia's fullscale aggression against Ukraine and the use of the imperial narrative about a "common cradle of nations" to justify territorial claims and deny Ukrainians' right to their own statehood. It substantiates the need for decolonization of historical scholarship and public consciousness, liberation from the terminological layers of imperial historiography, and establishment of a scientifically grounded concept of Ukraine-Rus as an early Ukrainian state. | en |
