Atlas Shrugged: Feminism Discourse or Discourse of Femininity
(Видавничий дім Дмитра Бураго, Київ, 2015) Muntian, Antonina O.; Shpak, Iryna V.
EN: The current piece “Atlas Shrugged: Feminism Discourse or Discourse of Femininity” is an attempt to determine the differences between feminism discourse and discourse of femininity and to investigate the connection between feminism and objectivism. The authors talk about the concept of the representation of the feminine self as a part gender studies and the fact that it becomes more and more acute; it deals with beauty stereotypes and takes one of the prominent places in practically all the western cultures. They mention that the basic aim for a literary work is conveying some specific cultural ideas, discursive peculiarities; however, it is important to understand that discourse cannot be regarded as a purely linguistic notion, it represents interests for psychologists, linguists, culture experts as well as scholars in the in the study of literature. The research touches upon the philosophy of Ayn Rand’s, i.e. objectivism. Her philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute. Further the authors argue that objectivism and feminism, specifically radical feminism, are concepts which may rarely be put together, as far as objectivism is extremely about individualism, while feminism struggles for collective result. In its turn feminism, especially radical feminism sees a number of misogynistic traits in objectivism and perceives the latter as a ‘white male’ construct. The authors come to the conclusion that the basic idea of Rand’s regarding the women rights was that women had not only rights, but responsibilities as well. In her viewpoint success of a woman did not depend on the career she obtained, but rather on the values she possessed. Essentially she tried to point out that women should develop themselves in the sphere where they may get optimal results, and they should chose not accordingly being women, but accordingly their abilities.

(Едмонтон, Канада, 2020) Muntian, Antonina O.; Shpak, Iryna V.
EN: Abstract: Learning English as a means of intercultural communication requires focused attention. The role of English in the world in the 21st century has increased significantly. This is due, in particular, to the fact that it is spoken by approximately 31% of EU citizens, and for 16% it is mother tongue. Today, English has become the language of technology, science, culture, and business. This is evidenced by the fact that three-quarters of the world's correspondence, 80% of e-mail and the Internet content are in English. Most international documents, articles, literary works, instructions are written in English. Knowledge of English broadens the horizon, and allows people to learn more about the culture and customs of other peoples.

EN: The issue of teaching a foreign language was been raised long time ago, but today, with the growing role of the English language, the issue of communication in English is being explored even more deeply. Scientists pay considerable attention to the concept of “communicative competence”. This concept emerged in the teaching of foreign language in the 80's, proposed by his American scientist D. Himes, who interpreted communicative competence as an integrative entity, which includes not only linguistic but also socio-cultural components.

ENG: Modern linguistic and literary sciences are greatly intertwined and dwell on a number of similar notions however under somewhat different angles. Linguistic and literary concepts being much alike may have different accents. The concept in terms of linguistic category may signify an idea, however in terms of literature it is more worth of analyzing through the prism of inception – thus a literary concept is a notion that is a seed which is to grow in readers’ consciousness.

Concept of the City as a Unit of Cognition in Philology: Kabul in Khaled Hosseini’s Novel «The Kite Runner»
(Economics College in Stalowa Wola, Poland, 2018) Muntian, Antonina O.
EN: The aim of the current piece is an attempt to investigate the concept of the city in the framework of the interdisciplinary approach. Nowadays the interdisciplinary approach is becoming an integral part of scientific analysis, where cognitive linguistics is an integral part of cognitive science. It is widely accepted that one of the ways to analyze consciousness is through language matter and creating concept sphere, which in its turn is created by means of linguistic concepts. In the course of research the author reaches the understanding that the term “linguistic concept’ is to some extent narrow, as far as this type of concept should be analyzed not only from the point of view of linguistic, but from the point of literature as well, as far as this angle is not less important for concept sphere formation. The analysis of the concept is conducted with the relevance to other spheres of cognitive science, and using methods not peculiar solely to classical linguistics.

Controlling the Dynamic Characteristics of Steel Bunker Containers for Bulk Materials
(IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2024) Bannikov, Dmytro O.; Tiutkin, Oleksii L.; Hezentsvei, Yukhym; Muntian, Antonina O.
ENG: The article presents the main results of research devoted to the definition and analysis of the dynamic characteristics of steel small-sized bunker containers for storing bulk materials. All studies were carried out using the finite element method with the use computer complex SCAD. The object of research was a bunker of a bypass track for feeding bulk materials with a total volume of up to 70 m3. The study analysed the natural partial frequency spectrum and the partial oscillation modes of individual load-bearing elements of the bunker. Based on the results of the data analysis, a rather high quantitative density of the natural frequency spectrum was determined. At the same time, its lower limit is about 25-30 Hz for an empty bunker capacity and decreases to 3-5 Hz when the bunker is fully loaded, which is dangerous from the point of view of the possibility of resonance phenomena. In order to qualitatively and quantitatively control the dynamic characteristics, it was proposed to change the steel strength of the structure, which made it possible to change the natural frequencies by about 15% for every 100 MPa change in steel strength for the bunker containers of the considered type.

Developing critical thinking in higher education through the analysis of academic texts in a foreign language
(Sapienza Grupo Editorial, 2025) Dolzhenko, Maryna; Medynska, S. I.; Haidar, Veronika; Klos, Liudmyla; Muntian, Antonina O.
ENG: The main task of contemporary higher education is to reveal the abilities of each student, to educate a person ready for life in a high-tech, competitive world. Modern society, and therefore modern education, needs a free, creative person with certain qualities of thinking. Freedom of thinking implies a critical approach, oriented towards creative and constructive activity, so the qualitative characteristic of thinking of a free person is critical thinking. The article considers the development of HE student’s critical thinking in a VUCA world. The implications of FL academic reading for shaping critical thinking are analyzed within theoretical visions and existing practices. A combination of narrative review and grounded theory methodology allowed systematizing current patterns and trends, and ultimately suggested a conceptual vision (scheme) of the landscape of developing critical thinking in HE students through the analysis of academic texts in FL.

Efficiency Estimation of the Shaped Hot Rolled Steel Product Mix of India and Ukraine
(Національний університет будівництва і архітектури, Київ, 2019) Gaidaichuk, Victor V; Bannikov, Dmytro O.; Radkevych, Anatolii V.; Muntian, Antonina O.
ENG: The publication presents main results of the performed quantitative and qualitative analysis of modern shaped rolled metal products of India, which is used for structural steel members. Its efficiency was compared to the current domestic product range of Ukraine on the example of angle bars, channel sections and flanged beams. Special attention is paid to the system of designations and marking of product mix items. The publication presents the main results of the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the modern hot rolled steel assortment of India, which is used for steel building structures. The shaped hot rolled steel products are considered, represented in the standards of both countries by four types of profiles – equal leg angles, unequal leg angles, channel and beams. Special attention is paid to the system of designations and labeling of products of the assortment. In general, it should be noted that the overall organization and principle of construction of the analyzed assortments of India and Ukraine are quite similar. The main fundamental difference is the availability in the standard of India of a wider range of profile varieties within one step, which makes it possible to more efficiently choose the required section in the design. However, the step itself is widely than in domestic standards, which negates such dignity. Angels profiles in the Indian assortment have a wider range of thicknesses and are represented by a large number of sizes, especially for unequal leg angles, which is connected with a significant distribution of such profiles in the supporting elements of steel structures. Channel profiles in general have approximately the same degree of efficiency and the number of standard sizes in the assortments of both countries. In the standard of India, profiles with flange slopped shelves are displayed in more way and, in the domestic standard, with parallel shelves. Beam profiles have the largest number of sizes in both assortments, but unlike the domestic standard in India's standard, they are presented only in cross-sections with flange slopped shelves. In this case, the profiles aimed at bending, according to the domestic assortment have specific characteristics averaged on 15 – 40 % higher with a less on 30 – 40 % by weight. For profiles of heavy series, oriented also on the perception of longitudinal forces, sections in the Indian assortment have higher specific characteristics and less weight on average by 20 – 30 %.

The Fountainhead: Specifics of Male Characters’ Verbalization in the Novel by Ayn Rand
(Національний університет "Острозька академія", Острог, 2019) Muntian, Antonina O.; Shpak, Iryna V.
EN: Abstract: In the current piece under the title “The Fountainhead: Specifics of Male Characters’ Verbalization in the Novel by Ayn Rand”, the authors make an attempt to analyze the verbalization, actualization and representation of central male literary characters of the novel “The Fountainhead” (1943) by the American writer and philosopher Ayn Rand. The subjects of the study are four main male literary characters: Howard Roark, Peter Keating, Gale Wynand and Ellsworth Toohey. The authors of the article set themselves the task of analyzing a number of relevant scientific works devoted to problems of verbalization, actualization, and the use of stylistic techniques used by the writers of literary fiction (on the example of the novel by Ayn Rand) to create an artistic image, which in its turn should interact with the readership and convey the ideas of the writer in question. The authors of the current investigation conclude that the artistic literary images of Ayn Rand's novel “The Fountainhead” are verbalized with the help of a wide range of stylistic devices and other expressive means; Ayn Rand effectively transmits the verbalized emotional state, involving the main of its components: situational, evaluative, sociocultural, lingno-cognitive, and the like.

Gender Discourse of “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini
(Ужгородський національний університет, Ужгород, 2020) Muntian, Antonina O.; Shpak, Iryna V.
EN: This piece aims to investigate some aspects of gender discourse verbalization in modern literature on the basis of the fiction novel “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini. The piece in question aims to research two main female characters of the novel: Laila and Mariam in terms of feminism and feminist discourse actualization under religious (Muslim) norms. The history of women's struggle for their rights, despite the fact that this struggle is an integral part of human history, is almost unknown to the vast majority of citizens, both men and women. It is only in recent decades that feminism has become the subject of public debate, research, and in sometimes, even a discipline at certain universities. The struggle of women for their rights, both political and economic, cultural and, above all, social began to gain momentum with the advent of suffragism and this process is still far from being over. Recently, interest in women's history has increased significantly, as women's position in society is an acute social problem. However, despite all the achievements of feminism, men still prevail in all spheres of life, especially when it comes to countries whose citizens profess Islam and obey Sharia law. The ideology of feminism, which became widespread in the mid-twentieth century, has greatly influenced the way women think, live, and behave in society. During its development, feminism has emerged in different directions, which, in turn, have formed under the influence of society. Gender discourse analysis is one area of critical discursive research that focuses on establishing the correspondence between the gender structure of society and the gender asymmetric structures of discursive practices. Analyzing a number of scientific works (philosophical, literary, linguistic, etc.) The authors come to the conclusion that linguopragmatic aspect is of utmost importance for a literary fiction writer trying to introduce both literary and linguistic concepts (as well as philosophical) peculiar to the discourse in question: Khaled Hosseini portrays his female characters as fighters, not as victims, which is a rather extreme idea for Muslim communities, especially rural Muslim communities of the past and present.

Genre Structure VS. Literary Concepts in “The Butterfly Garden” by Dot Hutchison
(Державний вищий навчальний заклад «Ужгородський національний університет», Ужгород, 2021) Muntian, Antonina O.; Shpak, Iryna V.
ENG: The purpose of the given piece is an attempt to analyze some aspects of the structure of a literary piece belonging to a genre of mass literature, i.e., a thriller and the relevance and importance of this structure comparing to the ideas and concepts conveyed by the author in the literary work. In the current investigation the authors dwell on the defining a genre of thriller and both compare and contrast it with an older and rather more established genre of the detective story. To achieve the goal both cultural and historical method and comparative and historical method will be used. The first method will give us opportunity to trace national peculiarities, which influence the whole literary piece in terms of pragmatics: help us to understand the authors ideas, which should be conveyed to the readership, from the socio-cultural point of view, whereas the second method will give us a perspective on modern products of not only mass literature but of mass culture on the whole. The basis for the current study is scientific pieces by both domestic and foreign scholars, which are devoted to the problems of literary reception and intercultural aspect of modern literary pieces. A thriller is a genre of mass literature and naturally has umpteen elements peculiar to this part of literature; however there are some idiosyncratic features as well. In the course of the research, it becomes obvious that a thriller novel may not have a strict genre frame, however, one of the main distinctive features for a thriller is presence of suspense: psychological tension, which comes into a novel and does not let readership lose their attention till the last pages. To illustrate the irrelevance of the rigid structure in comparison with the significance of ideas and notions recognition by the readership when we deal with a piece belonging to mass literature, the authors have chosen a thriller novel by Dot Hutchison “The Butterfly Garden” (2017). In our opinion this novel lacks the traditional structure, however, falls into the category of thriller novels due to the features pertinent to the genre, which are kept in the novel.

Humanistic Intention of Dystopia in "The Giver" by Lois Lowry
(Дніпровський національний університет залізничного транспорту імені академіка В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2021) Muntian, Antonina O.; Shpak, Iryna V.
EN: Purpose. The aim of this piece is to study the manifestations of humanistic pursuits in a literary fiction work. The main interest is related to the interpretation of those existential and sociocultural concepts that underlie the dys-topian novel by Lois Lowry. The theoretical basis of the study is based on works on phenomenology and the theo-ry of reader reception. The method of phenomenology is a descriptive method: the phenomena of consciousness cannot be reduced to limited cognitive forms, and therefore language and means of description are important along with their ability to reveal consciousness through phenomena. Originality of the study lies in the investigation of the humanistic aspect of a dystopian society, depicted in the modern literary fiction. The main attention is focused on the phenomenological identification of existential ideas and their manifestation in the literary characters of the given work. The conclusions speak about the tendencies of humanization and dehumanization of a man and society in the context of philosophical, ethical and aesthetic issues, which are the most important and urgent problems of our time. The current study finds out that in the modern dystopian literature and philosophy, the main subject of atten-tion is a human. This human is perceived and depicted as a phenomenon that cannot be grasped by the notions ofintimation and essence. The human is a creature whose freedom presupposes a constant departure from nature and habitual reality to the realm of transcendent through the desire to comprehend his or her certain way of existence.

Literary Features of Syntactic Representation of the Concept of the City in the Novel «The Kite Runner» by Khaled Hossini
(Міжнародний гуманітарний університет, Одеса, 2018) Muntian, Antonina O.; Shpak, Iryna V.
EN: The purpose of this piece is an attempt to analyze literary features of syntactic representation of the concept of the city in the novel by Afghan-American writer Khaled Hossini under the title “The Kite Runner.” The basis for the term “concept” is the study of the semantic language system. Among the scholars involved in the study of this branch of linguistics are Aristotle, Arutyunova, Vynogradov, Grigoriev, Humboldt, Carnap, Lewis, Potebnya, Russell, and others. The concepts are used as ready-made cliches (in analogy to grammatical forms) in completely different, inappropriate contexts, without thinking of what meaning is enshrined in this word in the minds of most people, which serves the recipient as the basis for understanding the relayed sense. Linguistic meanings convey only a part of our knowledge of the world. The main part of this knowledge is preserved in our consciousness in the form of various mental structures – concepts of varying degrees of complexity and abstraction, in the content of which new characteristics can be constantly included. The study of each author's concept enables detection of generalities and specifics in a particular segment, which contributes to a better understanding of systemic laws in general. Under the concept, we will consider the totality of knowledge and perceptions associated with this concept, and associations (both individual and culturally fixed), linking it with other phenomena. The writer's view of the city is the textualization of reality, the embodiment of the “stranger”, the boy who left and then returned for the only reason of not recognizing the city that once he belonged to and most certainly still does to some extent. On the one hand, the image of the city is quite realistic, it lives in the ages of its complex and controversial fate, on the other hand, appears to be an illusion, a model of simulation.

The problem of feminist literary criticism is neither new nor well researched at this point of time; therefore any research in this sphere is rather relevant. Being progressive country, where feminism is well developed in the north, situation in the southern states of the USA was and still is rather different: people in those states tend to support and rely on old norms and practices, and that means that women are perceived not as fully functioning members of society, they were facilitators for men’s success and advancement in social circles and professional life. Feminism and women’s studies are one of the most relevant trends of modern theoretical research. These issues are pertinent to sociology, psychology, linguistics and the last but not the least literary studies. Literature, especially fiction, is the sphere where both new and old ideas find their implementation and interpretation and it is additionally the vast field of languages’ pragmatic aspect realization. On the basis of the literary work by an American writer Donna Tartt the authors of the current piece make an attempt to analyze the functionality of a southern American family and the roles of females in this family in particular and the whole society in general. Having looked at the discourse of the main characters of the novel the authors of the study come to the conclusion that the role of women was largely underrated. Males had the opportunities for development, prestigious career, professional growth and, most importantly freedom of choice. Females were left with submission, emotion, lack of ability to react and make decisions as well as overcome difficulties and be capable of presenting a sound judgment. In “The Little Friend” by an American writer Donna Tartt readers come across peculiar characteristics of females’ societal functioning in the southern states America; Donna Tartt gives opportunity to the readers to interpret those peculiarities in the manner acceptable for them (thus making the readership a collective co-author).

Mass Culture and Today’s Issues in Khaled Hosseini”S Work
    (Видавничий дім «Гельветика», 2025) Muntian, Antonina O.
ENG: The aim of the current research in question is to consider mass/pop culture aspects and today’s issues in Khaled Hosseini’s literary work. On the one hand mass literature can promote standard thinking through imposing stereotypes thus potentially limiting readers´ capacity for deeper assessment of ongoing processes. On the other hand, contemporary fiction grapples with topics such as identity and social justice, the impact of culture, history and politics on societal development, the evolving role of literature and art in a multicultural world among others, which are extremely important. Writers explore how global influences affect (or don’t) identity, touch upon such matters as migration, diaspora, and search for belonging; confront such issues as inequality, discrimination and human rights abuses related to race, gender, sexuality and indigenous rights. Khaled Hosseini´s novels, such as The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and And the Mountains Echoed, explore the resilience of human relationships, the plight of Afghan women, and the enduring love for a homeland shaped by conflict and displacement. Key aspects include his realist style, focus on the mother-daughter and father-son bonds, and the exploration of complex characters grappling with their past. A significant focus is placed on the experiences of Afghan women, their struggle against a patriarchal society, and the strength they find in sisterhood and motherhood to resist oppression. Hosseini uses the political and social upheavals in Afghanistan as a backdrop to explore the impact of war and conflict on individuals and families, often through vivid and emotionally resonant scenes. His focus on strong, relatable characters allows readers to connect with the deeper emotional and personal aspects of the stories. He uses various literary devices to convey meaning and emotion, which enhances the reader's understanding of the narrative.

Mathematical Models of Effective Topology of Computer Networks for Electric Power Supply Control on Railway Transport
(University of Žilina, Slovakia, 2022) Stasiuk, Oleksandr; Kuznetsov, Valeriy; Zubok, Vitalii; Goncharova, Lidiya; Muntian, Antonina O.
ENG: The paper is devoted to analysis of modern directions of innovation-investment formation of intelligent computer networks that control the fast-moving technological processes of electricity supply. It is based on the conclusion that the problem of increasing the productivity of information exchange between information resources and consumers is dominant. A method for increasing the efficiency of information exchange is proposed as a search for the rational location of a new node and the organization of such a set of its connections among the whole set of nodes of the computer network, which provides a minimum average topological distance. Mathematical models of effective topological organization of connections in computer network of power consumption control at the level of traction substations, electric power distances and the railway in general are proposed.

Modelling of the Electric Locomotion DS3 Working
(Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan, 2019) Bannikov, Dmytro O.; Radkevich, Anatoliy V.; Muntian, Antonina O.
ENG: Abstract. The purpose of the work is to evaluate the spatial distribution of the rigidity of the carrier frame and the body of the Ukrainian electric locomotive DC3 as a single system during operation and repair. The research was carried out on the basis of the finite element method with the application of design and computing complex SCAD for Windows. The numerical model of the electric locomotive was built, tested and then used to identify the causes and providing guidance on solving some specific operational questions. They are included, for example, the possibility of eliminating the body skew when jacking up on jacks and jamming the door as a result. The researches showed that the structure of the electric locomotive DS3 in general has a rather high spatial rigidity, both in transverse and longitudinal directions, and on torsion. However, for some practical repair tasks there is not enough for that rigidity. It was recommended to increase the thickness of the shell of its body up to 4 mm or the roof up to 8 mm, which leads to an increasing in the total mass of the machine by about 2,5 and 3,5 tons, respectively.

Modernization of the Buffer Beam of PE2U Traction Unit Electric Locomotive
(IOP Publishing, 2020) Bannikov, Dmytro O.; Radkevich, Anatolii V.; Muntian, Antonina O.
ENG: The article presents the main results of a theoretical study on the analysis of the stress-strain state of the construction of the buffer bar of the electric locomotive for the control of the traction unit PE2U. The estimation of the possibility and effectiveness of attachment on the front wall of the buffer beam of a special securing bracket was considered as a separate task. In both cases, the finite element method based on the SCAD for Windows computing system was used. As a result, it was found that in general, the design of the buffer beam does not meet the requirements of the current standards. Up to 5 zones of high stress concentration are present in the structure, which, given the long service life of the machines (up to 40-50 years), are potential places for the development of fatigue damage. In order to balance the stress level, we recommended to strengthen the contact zone of the supports under the automatic coupling with the system of horizontal truss plates. The additional recommendation is to reinforce the lower sheet of the buffer beam structure up to and including its replacement by a sheet of greater thickness. Attachment to the front wall of the buffer beam of a special securing bracket for holding in emergency mode the coupling of the locomotive-car is possible provided that this zone is strengthened by the system of additional truss plates. The total increase in the mass of the buffer beam reaches 350 kg (25 % of the original weight of the buffer beam structure).

Motif of Confinement in the Diary of the Young Girl by Anne Frank
(Ужгородський національний університет, Ужгород, 2023) Muntian, Antonina O.
ENG: The aim of the current piece is to look at the structure and ideas expressed in The Diary of the Young Girl by Anne Frank. It is also our attempt to look at the notion of a literary concept and dwell on its different definitions. Modern linguistic and literary sciences are greatly intertwined and dwell on a number of similar notions however under somewhat different angles. Linguistic and literary concepts being much alike may have different accents. The concept in terms of linguistic category may signify an idea, however in terms of literature it is more worth of analyzing through the prism of inception – thus a literary concept is a notion that is a seed which is to grow in readers’ consciousness. The word concept comes from the Latin conceptus, which in translation means “thought, idea, concept” and was originally used as a term of logic and philosophy, however later this notion received a wider recognition in a number of other fields of science. The artistic picture of the world created by the author of a literary work is realized through a system of concepts presented in a specific verbal and figurative expression. They form a complex and multifaceted conceptual structure of the artistic text, which reflects the reality seen through the prism of the author’s imagination and embodies the essence of his creative idea. The Diary of the Young Girl is a testimony of a teenage girl, not a flawless symbol and not even a flawless writer. In her diary she expresses her fears, attempts to cope with her own emerging sexuality; she is trying to deal and find compromises with her family. Like any teenager she veers between the carefree nature of a child and the full-fledged sorrow of an adult. Anne emerges more human, more vulnerable, and more vital than ever. Anne Frank’s The Diary of the Young Girl is among the most enduring documents of the twentieth century. Since its publication in 1947, it has been read by tens of millions of people all over the world. It remains a beloved and deeply admired testament to the indestructible nature of the human spirit.

Philosophical Representation of Female Artistic Images in Objectivism
(Дніпровський національний університет залізничного транспорту ім. акад. В. Лазаряна, Дніпро, 2019) Muntian, Antonina O.
EN: Purpose. Based on actualization of gender discursive features, the current piece aims to clarify and accentuate the manifestation of gender-philosophical ideas interaction: feminism in the framework of objectivism. The source material for the current article is a novel by Ayn Rand "Atlas Shrugged", which is a philosophical work on objectivism. Theoretical basis. The development of the gender discourse, in particular the discourse of feminism is researched from the retrospective angle. This piece is an attempt to underline peculiarities of female artistic images representation in Rand’s work and the way Rand’s novel influenced the logical development of feminist discourse. Discourse of feminism is a rather peculiar notion for Objectivism, where the notion of gender is, theoretically, annihilated as far as gender is irrelevant for both personal and professional growth, however, practically, gender representation and actualization is ubiquitous in Rand’s philosophy. Originality. The distinctive features of gender discourse in Objectivism are highlighted in this piece; the results are based on the application of comparative analysis. It is argued that philosophy itself may well be perceived through a literary work of fiction, thus making artistic images prototypes of philosophy functionaries. Conclusion. "Atlas Shrugged" is not merely a literary fiction, but rather a philosophical treatise on Objectivism, which is a philosophy of individual struggle and achievement. The main female protagonist of "Atlas Shrugged", Dagny Taggart, is a staunch supporter of Objectivism. In Rand’s opinion Dagny Taggart is a prototype of a true woman of utopian American capitalist society, and it is her artistic image that was misinterpreted by supporters of feminist movement ideas and Dagny Taggart became an icon of feminism, whereas in reality Dagny’s discourse is rather a discourse of femininity, for Dagny despises everything that is connected with feminist ideas and practices, and, it is an error to weave her discourse into a much wider feminist discourse.
